We say: This directional stick will do a bit of everything, and that, along with its stable cambered base and easy-turning flex, makes it a great board for intermediates. A bit soft for proper experts perhaps, but a good option for anyone else.

- History lesson: Founded in 1995 by a group of California shred-heads, Arbor set out to be as green as they possibly could right from day one. Of course, this was back when very few people had heard of global warming, and the greenhouse effect was something that happened when you hot-boxed your mate’s Fiesta. Being environmentally friendly wasn’t in vogue (or in Vogue for that matter) like it is now. Arbor, with its green concerns, tree logo and use of natural materials, was originally ridden mostly by hippies. Increasingly though, as green has become more mainstream in snowboarding, the company has started to shed its hippy image and produce some sick jib sticks alongside its surfer-ish powder boards.
