Despite the bomb-proof construction it’s still impressively lightweight, with cored-out materials that get the balance just right. As for comfort, the highbacks are designed for a flawless fit with your calves, and the straps are snug without being overly plush.

As has been the norm for the last few years, the Burton Lexa is available in two versions; the EST edition works only with ‘Channel’ boards (more on those here), with unbeatable boardfeel and easy, precise stance adjustment without the need to un-strap. Meanwhile the Re:Flex version seen here can mount to any board (including Channel ones), and features a hinged disc that minimises the trade-off in natural board flex. Both feature plenty of cushioning, including a gel-based system that works wonders.
