UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2018/2019 Nidecker Gun here
‘Weapon’ is the word that comes to mind when you first look at the Nidecker Gun (and not just because of the name). In the wrong hands, it could wreak havoc – but those who are able to tame it may find that they don’t want to ride anything else ever again.
“You can expect to go from nought to sixty in record time”
Nidecker know a thing or two about building a carving snowboard (see also the Nidecker Concept), and the Gun is based on the larger-than-life models seen in the sport’s early days. The running length is obviously pretty sizeable, as is the sidecut radius, so you can expect to go from nought to sixty in record time.
Like all good carvers it has a camber profile, that still can’t be beaten for gripping the piste firmly and powering you out of turns. Initiation is smooth too, thanks to the extended rocker nose. It may take a run or two to find your flow, but once you do this will obey your every command as you paint lines on the piste.
