The Burton High Fives contest went down yesterday at Snow Park NZ under sunny blue skies (you can check out the results here), and while we haven’t seen footage of the winning runs yet, here’s a short clip of Mark McMorris making history, or at least trying to, with the first ever triple cork attempt in a slopestyle comp. We have of course seen triples stomped by both McMorris and Torstein Horgmo in the X-Games big air contest last winter, but incorporating them into a full slopestyle run is another matter altogether. Is the coming season going to be defined by riders stomping triples left, right and centre in contests? Is this one step too far? Is it only a matter of time before we start seeing some serious injuries as a result of riders stepping up to compete with the elite? What do you think?
