UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019/2020 YES Standard here
A board that rides like a true twin in the resort, but offers an edge in powder? You’ll hear a lot of brands saying that they’ve nailed this, usually by tweaking the profile. However, YES has gone a different way, and the result is the YES Standard snowboard.
On firmer snow, the YES Standard behaves like a park board. Rocker sections at the nose and tail make for a more forgiving ride than true camber, but there’s still enough of the classic bend to help you blast off the lip.
“Once the powder arrives, you get increased flotation thanks to a slight increase to the surface area of the nose”

However, once the powder arrives, you get increased flotation thanks to a slight increase to the surface area of the nose. You can’t just switch off, of course, but holidng your line has been made that little bit easier. Should you require an extra helping hand, extra inserts behind the usual set allow you to set your stance right back.
A narrower section at the waist improves edge hold and reduces the energy needed for edge changes, making the YES Standard rock-solid on piste and super nimble. The high-quality sintered base brings the speed, too.
In previous years the YES Standard topped out at 159cm, but the new 162 version opens the door to more folks than ever. Oh, and the graphic remains absolutely on point.
