The Salomon Rumble Fish breaks down the tired old all mountain title and comes out swinging as a truly versatile jill of all trades, locked and loaded for destruction no matter where you take it. This ain’t no stale fish, suit up and get ready to rumble.

It’s a no brainer that aggressive riders choose the Rumble Fish time and time again, the stiff flex paired with the quadratic sidecut make it a treat to rip up groomers. You’ll be digging trenches and powering through any crud that’s unlucky enough to get in your way. Carbon stringers in the nose and tail beef up the board, moving underfoot energy down to the tip and stabilising the board for a dynamic and deceptively smooth ride.

Directional twin outline and Popster Booster core come into their own when you’re razzing through the park, the snap and the pop on offer align themselves with boosting kickers and windlips all day long. It’s stable underfoot on the in run, and takes some of the slap out of those overshot landings.

Salomon’s tried and tested Rock Out Camber combines a flat middle section between the feet, camber outside the inserts and a rockered nose and tail. This versatile best of both worlds option opens up the whole mountain as your own personal playground. You’ll float in the powder, tear it up on piste and get a smooth hook free performance between the park ropes.

“Cork sidewalls are not only good for Mother Earth, but they’ll soak up chatter and impact better than most other materials”

Salomon pick up some serious eco cred with the Rumble Fish, not only have they incorporated bamboo in the topsheet to minimise the use of resin and fibreglass, but you’ll dampen vibrations and further reduce your footprint with Salomon’s innovative Royal Cork Rail technology. Cork sidewalls are not only good for Mother Earth, but they’ll soak up chatter and impact better than most other materials.

This isn’t a snowboard for a novice rider, The Rumble Fish is potent and aggressive, those looking for something more mellow, would do well to check out the Salomon Wonder. This right here is your powerful daily driver, the Salomon Rumble Fish will reel them in, hook, line and sinker.

Tester’s Verdict 2018/19

Sarah Fishgypsysnowboarding.com/

“This board hasn’t changed much from previous seasons, and do you know why? Cause ‘if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it’.

A big sister to the Gypsy, this board has a stiffer nose and tail that offers more stability on any terrain you throw it at. It handles drops like a ninja; having that stiffer tail helps you not wash out. It also carves like a knife through butter, and is super easy to hold the edge even at high speeds with less judder.

The Rumble Fish is stable on jumps and side hits, with amazing pop thanks to those carbon strands hidden in the nose and tail. At the same time it’s forgiving on rails, and doesn’t tire you out on those unexpected pow days.

It is 100% a true all-mountain freestyle board.”
