Why we chose the Salomon Huck Knife Pro Snowboard: The Huck Knife on steroids.

The Salomon Huck Knife Pro may well be the best thing since sliced bread. If you thought the Huck Knife couldn’t get any better, well, you were wrong. With more pop, more stability, and more aggression the Huck Knife Pro is making a statement.

“With camber in between the feet you can expect a vibrant ride, whilst the strong camber underneath the bindings provides the board with incredible strength”

We thought the Salomon Huck Knife was slowly taking over the world. The Huck Knife Pro will probably do it faster than we can say “croque monsieur.” This is an absolute weapon both in the park and beyond. It carries the same profile as the OG Huck Knife did before – camber in between the feet, a stronger camber under the feet and a short rocker section at both ends.

The strong camber underneath the bindings provides the board with incredible strength. This is a poppy yet stable ride with the rocker at tip and tail playing its part too – you’ll find pressing on rails and boxes comfortable. The tiny rocker sections will also give you a smoother feel while going edge to edge.

Instead of a traditional Aspen core, the Huck Knife Pro’s core is made out of lightweight and durable paulownia wood – which gives the board a bit more pop. The added Popster Boosters give the board an almost skateboard-ish feel, making your ollies feel more snappy. Salomon’s Gunslinger Sidewalls are there to dampen the ride and provide you with more stability when you feel like entering full roadrunner mode and go all out charging.

The Huck Knife Pro’s got a stiffer flex, more pop, extra dampening and more power than the traditional Huck Knife. You’ll be able to put more power into your turns and feel more stable stomping kickers too.

“The added Popster Boosters give the board a skateboard-ish feel, making your ollies more snappy.”

Don’t let the price tag scare you – it might not be worth it if you’re just about to jump on a snowboard for the first time but if you’re a more experienced rider who appreciates a park board with advanced tech, the Huck Knife Pro is what you’ll want to pop onto your Christmas list.

Tester’s Verdict

Stephen MacLeanThe Snowboard Asylum

“I giggled like a little school girl on my first run with this board. Holy. Shit.

“Having the main camber run between your feet then suddenly tightening up just outside the insert packs makes you want to scream with joy”

Having the main camber run between your feet then suddenly tightening up just outside the insert packs makes you want to scream with joy. If you’re like me and like a good old fashioned camber board then get this board. I hopped on this thing and immediately could feel how cambered it was under my feet. It makes carving a breeze and lining up a kicker or rail a dream with how responsive and quick it is edge to edge.

Having the honeycomb core in the middle of this board makes it super lightweight and easy to just throw around and flex. This board is aimed at the freestyle rider that wants the utmost control and precision while perfecting their line through the park.”

Trade Secrets

James Fuller – Salomon, UK

“New freestyle boss, the Hucknife’s big bro with the lightest core, Gun slinger side wall, added carbon forks, damplifier lite nose and tail and ghost green core ”
