If the Nitro Fate women’s snowboard looks familiar, you were probably watching the freestyle events at the Winter Olympics. Both Laurie Blouin (silver, slopestyle) and Zoe Sadowski-Synnott (bronze, big air) picked up their bling whilst riding this.

Despite all that five-ring success, the Nitro Fate isn’t exclusively a park board. Its directional twin shape and slightly setback inserts are just a couple of the hallmarks of a classic all-mountain option.

“The Nitro Fate is a true all-terrain vehicle for confident female riders”

Thanks to the profile (camber with mellow rocker sections at each end), you can take the Fate anywhere and have a blast. Get the most out of the bend when you’re on an edge, or use it to pop to the moon off a side hit or park feature. When you’d prefer to mess around on the flat, the nose and tail are immensely pressable, and work well in powder too.

As for the build, it’s quality all the way. Lighter wood is used in the core, and it’s thinner between the bindings to make it more maneuverable. All this has been done without any loss of strength. The sintered base will give you enough speed to clear any size of booter, or just make the most of a steep, wide-open face.

The Nitro Fate is a true all-terrain vehicle for confident female riders, with stellar freestyle credentials to boot.

Tester’s Verdict

Sarah Fishgypsysnowboarding.com

“A fave of mine! The Fate is so much fun all over the mountain. If you are a one-board women who likes the option of riding everywhere, then this is a top contender.

It’s super light, responsive and forgiving all at the same time. Its locked-on feeling on rails and boxes inspires you with confidence to try new tricks.

“Its strong edge hold makes it a carving weapon”

It has so much stability in the air too, making landing seem effortless, and pop is easily found to send you boosting off side hits and jumps alike.

Its strong edge hold makes it a carving weapon, and its directional twin shape gives you so much more out of a pow day. Don’t be put off by the word ‘directional’ though – it doesn’t let you down in the switch department by any means. Its wizardry!
