UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019/2020 Nidecker Rave here
The Nidecker Rave snowboard is that rarest of things; a gear nerd’s dream that also satisfies those who go with their gut. Every single building block used in its construction is as premium as it gets, but the end result is all heart-fluttering, skin-tingling passion.
Despite only making its debut last year, the Nidecker Rave snowboard has already received a tweak for 2018/19. The squareish nose has been replaced with a pointier version that closer resembles the tail. The change makes sense, considering how many weight-saving measures have been deployed here.
“The Rave is an all-mountain snowboard, but we’ll bet the farm that you’ll get the most out of it on a fresh groomer”

We’ll start with the core, which features a combination of three different woods – a paulownia and poplar combo with tough beech along the edges. It’s a fantastic combination of durability and light weight, and things only get better as you move out towards the nose and tail.
The materials used at each end of the board differ from those in the middle. They’re lighter and stronger, and therefore less of them is required for the same result. The overall weight of the board is lowered, but the swing weight in particular. It’s something you’ll appreciate with every turn.
