While both Helgasons aren’t shy of bombing around the whole mountain, most of their wares out of Lobster Snowboards are aimed at the freestyle purist (see the Park Board and Jib Board). The Lobster Sender, however, is aimed at the all-rounder who still favours freestyle whatever the terrain.

The Lobster Sender has the same Triple Base Technology as Halldor Helgason’s pro model, but the carbon rods are focused on the nose and tail rather than under the feet. Each end of the board has two stiffeners that run alongside the centrebase section, and down to the nearest set of inserts. When you need pop, they’ll help you no end, but the middle of the board remains more flexible for an easier ride.
The rest of the core is mostly a combination of poplar and paulownia, but there’s also bamboo along the sidewalls to make it bomb-proof. The sintered base can fairly shift you along, and it’s made to withstand plenty of abuse too.
The twin shape and 3BT profile mean that the Lobster Sender is perfectly happy in the park, but when you want to push yourself in the backcountry, this is ready for whatever you throw at it.
