UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2018/2019 Jones Flagship here
The Details:
It’s not called the Jones Flagship for nothing – perhaps more than any other board in the range, this sums up what Jeremy Jones’ brand is all about. The development apparently took the best part of two decades, but since its arrival a few years ago the grizzled powder hounds have been snapping this model up in their droves.
The profile of the Jones Flagship is well-suited to charging, with a slightly setback camber bend and a longer rocker section towards the nose. If you’re not one for pointing it as fast as you can down the piste, move along; but if you are, this ranks among the best in the business.
It’s a little heavier than your average board, and very stiff, but the result is a solid, stable foundation that blasts through chop and makes you feel unstoppable. In the powder it’ll keep you upright on the gnarliest of lines, even if that means it’s not as good for tight tree runs.
That simple wooden topsheet may fit Jones’ eco branding perfectly, but it’s not just for show; the oak dampens vibrations to make the ride even more comfortable. This year it’s more iconic than ever, now that the graphics are properly branded on rather than inked.
