Who Is The Jones Dream Catcher For?

Only space in your board bag – or cash in your wallet – for one stick? Look no further than the Jones Dream Catcher. If you only get away once or twice a season, this covers all bases, but it’s got the durability to also suit a mountain hog that racks up the days in any and all conditions.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

Pretty much everything about the personality of the Jones Dream Catcher screams ‘all-mountain’. The medium flex keeps options open when mini-shred is all that’s on offer, and the long rocker sections at each end offer plenty of pressability. Meanwhile the camber between the feet gives you confidence on an edge, augmented by the wavy ‘Traction Tech’ sections of sidecut that provide extra grip on firmer snow and ice. The directional elements to the flex and outline are subtle, so while you do get a bit of a performance boost in your natural stance, switching it up is no challenge.

Construction and Materials

You won’t find any of Jones’ space-age tech in the Dream Catcher; as builds go, file this one under simple-but-effective. It’s got a 100% poplar core, sandwiched between layers of biax fibreglass that make it easy to manipulate through the waist.

Even on the lower end of the tech tiers, you’ll still find Jones applying sintered bases. The one here is more than fast enough, and easier to maintain than the more premium options. By the time you factor in the eco-cred (recycled sidewalls, bio resin, topsheet made from beans) then there’s not much to fault here.

Roundup

We’ve got tons of respect for Jones due to how much care and attention goes into its female-specific range, with shapes like the Mind Expander and Stratos among those turning heads. However, the Jones Dream Catcher is here to prove that the crew hasn’t neglected more conventional models in the process.
