The Details:
Big-hoofed riders the world over should all doff their caps to CAPiTA – the CAPiTA Supermacho is a new model they’ve released for 2015/16, and it only comes in wide. With a size range covering 157 to 169, even the most Hagrid-esque rider will get on with one of these.
It shares a profile with the perennially popular Black Snowboard Of Death, boasting a long camber section sandwiched between rocker at the nose and a flat section near the tail. While this means it’ll perform just a little better in your preferred stance, it really feels great whichever way you point it.
It’s towards the stiff end of the spectrum and so isn’t the most buttery thing, but compensates by being a stable and solid ride even at the highest speeds.
And for the most part, that’s what you want to be doing with the CAPiTA Supermacho; prepare to rediscover the joys of aggressive carving thanks to the wide waist width and progressive sidecut that will have you hammering out the turns.
The addition of bamboo and carbon to the core makes it responsive and light, so while it’s strong enough to handle the extra forces of a bigger, heavier rider, it’s not so dense that average Joes with plus-sized feet can’t enjoy it too.
