CAPiTA are bringing a whole new meaning to “send it to the moon” with this season’s Outerspace Living. This poppy, playful all-mountain freestyle deck is ideal for riders looking for floaty pow runs in the morning and cruisy park laps after lunch. The Outerspace living you know and love, with a few choice upgrades to blast it into 2020/21.

Drawing inspiration from the Mercury series, the Outerspace Living is a more mellow option with a softer flex, so if you’re a less experienced rider or you just prefer an easy-going snowboard then the Outerspace Living is gonna be out of this world.

“Ideal for riders looking for floaty pow runs in the morning and cruisy park laps after lunch”

Camber runs through the midbody out past the inserts, transitioning into rocker in the nose and tail. This versatile profile allows for carving and charging groomers, pressing and buttering through the park and slashing and surfing in the pow.

Power, aggression and edge hold are delivered by the raised camber, functioning like a springboard and keeping the Outerspace Living really poppy and dynamic. The playful tips add some float in the deep and give a platform for really locking into your presses.

Pop the hood and you’ll find a new addition in the four Carbon Kevlar Struts, one sitting either side of each set of inserts. These direct power towards the contact point while boosting rider input, creating a dynamic and lively ride.

Also new and upgraded for this season is the Superdrive FX Base, keeping you slick and allowing for more vibrant base graphics. All in all, the CAPiTA Outerspace Living is a trusty companion for those who want to rip it up all over the hill, without putting a huge dent in their wallet. Great bang for your buck with this one.

Tester’s Verdict 2019/20

Paul WoolProfessor

“This is my kind of board, I love a freestyle focused all mountain machine, that consistently delivers and doesn’t let you down; a well-built true-twin board with an even hybrid camber profile. Made with the rest of the Capita line up in the Mothership factory, the Outer Space Living has plenty of tech for a great price.

“A major confidence booster that will facilitate progression and a good time anywhere on the mountain”

The pop is snappy and energetic, enabling floaty airs off kickers and side hits. I didn’t hit any rails or boxes, but it felt at home in the air and stuck landings really well, which was a pleasant surprise. Away from the park, this board wants you to charge everywhere, it has great stability and can mow down anything in its way, from groomers to slush and chewed up powder this board seems to bulldozer everything with ease. The base seems about average in terms of speed, it seemed to run a bit slow on cats and the flat, but maybe that was just me.

The board carved much better than expected, the positive camber that lives right under your feet locks in and out with ease, torsionally it flexes well in the centre, allowing powerful and dexterous carves.

This board has got you covered where it counts and can hold its own when carving aggressively; an area where its peers often fall down. A major confidence booster that will facilitate progression and a good time anywhere on the mountain. Nice work Capita!”
