Who wouldn’t want to have one board that can do it all? The Capita Outerspace Living is a great choice if you’re planning to invest in only one board this season, this stick is built for cruising the whole mountain with ease.

If you’re a fan of Capita’s Directional all-mountain maverick the Mercury, but prefer a true twin shape, the Outerspace living might be more up your alley. This is a true twin shaped freestyle board that works as well in the park as it does on piste. The camrock profile, with camber underfoot and rocker at tip and tail, provides great edge hold, power and pop while simultaneously giving you that floaty feel when cruising through the deep.

“New for this year are the Inlaid HD Titanal Struts integrated into the core for structural reinforcement”

This board has got more kick to it than your high school punch. The core is made out of lightweight poplar and beech, which makes it a powerful, durable and lightweight weapon. New for this year are the Inlaid HD Titanal Struts integrated into the core for structural reinforcement. Basically, Capita’s added aluminium to the core channels to provide an extra boost.

Another new addition for 2019/20 is the Superdrive Ex Base, a new versatile base for the whole Capita collection in general. This base is a combination of a sintered and extruded base, which will give you the benefits of a fast sintered base without requiring you to spend the whole day waxing your board. Capita has gone way beyond to create a durable and fast base while retaining a low maintenance.

The Capita Outerspace Living is forgiving when you want it to be but strong enough to tackle sticky situations. It is the ideal partner – you can take this thing out for a swim in the deep, and once the powder is all tracked out you can hit the park.

Tester’s Verdict

Paul WoolProfessor

“This is my kind of board, I love a freestyle focused all mountain machine, that consistently delivers and doesn’t let you down; a well-built true-twin board with an even hybrid camber profile. Made with the rest of the Capita line up in the Mothership factory, the Outer Space Living has plenty of tech for a great price.

“A major confidence booster that will facilitate progression and a good time anywhere on the mountain”

The pop is snappy and energetic, enabling floaty airs off kickers and side hits. I didn’t hit any rails or boxes, but it felt at home in the air and stuck landings really well, which was a pleasant surprise. Away from the park, this board wants you to charge everywhere, it has great stability and can mow down anything in its way, from groomers to slush and chewed up powder this board seems to bulldozer everything with ease. The base seems about average in terms of speed, it seemed to run a bit slow on cats and the flat, but maybe that was just me.

The board carved much better than expected, the positive camber that lives right under your feet locks in and out with ease, torsionally it flexes well in the centre, allowing powerful and dexterous carves.

This board has got you covered where it counts and can hold its own when carving aggressively; an area where its peers often fall down. A major confidence booster that will facilitate progression and a good time anywhere on the mountain. Nice work Captia!”
