The Mercury is Capita’s all-mountain maverick, faster than a Lamborghini and with pop for days. This is a powerful weapon created to please the sendiest of us out there, so if you’re looking for one board to take you anywhere, look no further.

This snowboard has all the elements of a heavy hitter. The camber in between the feet provides quick edge to edge turns as well as high speed and pop without the loss of stability. With rocker at both ends, you’ll get a smooth ride and plenty of float in powder. The midsection of the board is slightly stiffer than the rest and will add additional power, response, and snap to your ride.

For those icy mornings when your board doesn’t want to grip at all Capita’s New Age Directional Sidecuts are there to save the day. There’s a reversed arc in the centre of the board that works as an additional contact point, and gives you better control throughout your turns. Add the directional shape and setback stance into the mix, and you’ve got impeccable control over the board while still being able to ride switch when you want to.

New for the Mercury this year is the Hyperdrive base. This custom formulated and exclusive to Capita’s Mothership sintered base makes the board even faster. With a high-density core and bamboo power rods, you’ll get the best of both worlds – a core that boasts strength with a seriously light overall weight. You’ll be riding over choppy snow with ease.

This all-rounder will give you unbelievable power and control. The Capita Mercury is a fast board with powerful pop and will, without doubt, get you in and out of most situations.

Tester’s Verdict

Rhys JonesTDC Snowboarding

“I have always liked riding Capita boards and the Mercury did not disappoint. The newest model looks good and rides good. I instantly felt comfortable on it by the end of my first run. This board has adopted the hybrid freeride camber profile with slightly directional shape. I found it gave me great control when hooning around.

“ took it through the park and it was solid off jumps and super comfortable at higher speeds”

The Mercury has a setback stance but didn’t affect my switch riding. It feels really lightweight, easy to throw around, giving you a really fun jibbing board which is great for those looking for a more tech freestyle board who want to tune in their tricks.

Plenty of snap in this board. I took it through the park and it was solid off jumps and super comfortable at higher speeds. Perfect mid flex all round ripstick! Didn’t get the chance to ride this in powder but feel it would plough happily through anything.

Think this board rates at a 6.5 flex which i would say is pretty accurate. I would highly recommend this to the more advanced intermediate riders.”
