A long-standing team and fan favourite, the CAPiTA DOA is a true modern day all-mountain maverick, the fabled ‘one board quiver’.

A snowboard so iconic, its (well-deserved) reputation precedes it in every corner of the industry, and year after year it reminds us all why we love snowboarding so much.

Who Is The CAPiTA DOA For?

If you’re the kind of rider who prioritises spending time in the park, but doesn’t want to sacrifice performance on piste, and you love riding pow, plus you rip the pipe, oh and a bit of sidecountry of course- yeah, you get the idea, right?

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

Over the last few years many all-mountain boards have begun shifting towards more directional shapes and flex patterns, but the DOA is sticking with its true twin guns, and that’s where you’re starting to pick up on those playful freestyle vibes.

This is backed up by the best of both worlds Resort V1 profile, blending a poppy midbody camber with forgiving and floaty rockered tips. It’s a great shout regardless of terrain or snow conditions, plus the flat section outside of the inserts gives a stable base for locking into presses and butters for some extra flatland finesse.

“It really is an industry juggernaut, with legions of adoring fans and stacks of awards”

Construction and Materials

Now, the only thing the DOA is actually defending anymore is its well-earned big kahuna status, but CAPiTA aren’t content to rest on their laurels with their best seller. For the 2021-22 iteration they’ve not exactly reinvented the wheel, but they’ve sure managed the gild the lily with upgraded construction in the form of a new Dual Blaster V2 Core. Lighter and nimbler but still armed with the good old DOA personality we’ve all come to know and love.

The DOA doesn’t take advantage of all of CAPiTA’s top shelf tech, but that’s one of the reasons we love it, unless you’re the kind of rider who goes hell for leather every single lap, every single day, then you’ll be more than alright with what the DOA has on offer.

Those happy to drop a bit more cash and looking for something with a bit more oomph would do well to look towards the Super DOA- the herculean big brother designed for those who want the very best on offer and the pinnacle of CAPiTA’s tech. While it’s not as beefy as its Super comrade, the DOA still makes use of rugged Kevlar bound sidewalls, plus two carbon strips running parallel outside the insert packs to boost snap and absorb chatter down the length of the board.

“Park, piste, pow- you name it the DOA will ride it”

Roundup

If you didn’t already know about the CAPiTA DOA, then you do now. It really is an industry juggernaut, with legions of adoring fans and stacks of awards. Park, piste, pow- you name it the DOA will ride it. Rumour has it, it’s impossible not to like it.
