As the old adage goes ‘birds of a feather shred together’, this one’s for the ladies who love hotlapping the park, slushy spring days, high octane stomping and ripping up groomers. Despite sharing much of its DNA with the multi award winning CAPiTA DOA, the Birds of a Feather is no shrinking violet little sister, this is a bonafide all-mountain freestyle ripper.

Tough as old boots, the Birds of a Feather is ready to be put through the ringer. Kevlar bound sidewalls, 360-degree steel edges and a tough wood core sandwiched between custom biax laminates makes a ride that can take a beating, without being heavy and cumbersome.

The camber dominant profile gives you the agression and precision you need for daily driving, while the flat and rockered zones give you the press-ability and forgiveness you need for locking in new tech tricks. There’s plenty of airtime to be had on this lil birdy, Flat Kick Technology lets you really load up the tail for ollies, it’s got bags of snap, crackle, and of course, pop.

A 3cm wide carbon fibre booster is laid into the laminate, either side of each insert pack below the core, running between the contact points. These make for a lightning fast transfer of energy, keeping the board ultra respsonsive without hampering the weight down.

While the Birds of a Feather could most certainly handle dipping into deeper snow, if your raision d’etre is steep and deep, you’d be better checking out The Equalizer. Whether you’re boosting off windlips, sniffing out sidehits with the homies or slathering the corduroy with all sorts of buttery madness, the CAPiTA Birds of a Feather is primed and ready to help you take flight.

Tester’s Verdict 2020/21

Stella PenttiWhitelines

“This board can float you through any terrain with ease. When strapping into the Capita Birds of a feather snowboard you can instantly feel that the board is made to take a beating. The board feels solid under feet, and sturdy enough to not throw you off your balance in case encountering uneven terrain or stomping bigger kickers.

“The stability of it gives you an extra boost of confidence, encouraging you to charge even faster”

If you want to go fast, this is a good board to have under your feet when doing so. The stability of it gives you an extra boost of confidence, encouraging you to charge even faster. Make sure though you know how to handle a camber board – full speed ahead requires you to be able to stop and turn in a second too in order to not endanger any other people on the slopes.

The board doesn’t lack in snap either, and you can easily pop an ollie on it while cruising through the resort. It’s not too stiff either, although I personally did find it a bit stiffer than what CAPiTA claims it to be, but then again, I might just have lacked some power in my legs that day.

Personally, I enjoyed riding this board. It’s aggressive, it’s sturdy and it’s got pop. It’s got the ability to reassure you that you’ll be able to blast through nearly anything on it. However, I wouldn’t recommend this to beginners as it takes some effort if you want to be able to fully enjoy the beauty of this power bird.”

Tester’s Verdict 2019/20

“This is a banging board! Absolutely loved riding it.

Basically, I love a true twin board, and in the past, I’ve also enjoyed a more mellow flex. However, I’ve come to realise that a slightly higher than mid rated flex is does the trick nowadays. Don’t get me wrong I still love to jib around and so, but the firmer flex makes it possible to charge as well – which I love.

I had the pleasure of riding this camrock board on fresh groomers and oh dear baby Jesus it was fun! This thing holds an edge better than you could hold your liquor on a Friday night out. I was flying fast past everyone without having to fear I’d catch an edge and tumble down like an amoeba.

It’s a good jib board too, but it’s definitely not made for that purpose primarily, so if that’s what you’re after, this might be a bit too stiff to your likening.

Sadly, I didn’t get to ride this in any powder, but I reckon it would do quite well in the deep too – basically, this is a really solid choice for a fast all-mountain board.”
