If you don’t already know Burton’s Kilroy Crew, check ‘em out here. If you do, you’ll know exactly what kind of riding the Kilroy Twin is made for- high octane park laps, boosting sidehits, bombing rollers and causing mayhem with your homies. All in all, the Kilroy Twin is an affordable snowboard that’s made for having fun.

Its brother in arms, the Kilroy 3D takes on a slightly more directional shape for some extra all-mountain variety, but if park’s your bag then buckle up. Sizing down all the way to a 135, the Kilroy Twin goes small enough to be unisex or to cater to groms looking to up their game, so ladies and young guns take note.

Who Is The Burton Kilroy Twin For?

Freestylers. Whether you’re aspiring or experienced the Kilroy Twin is built for pure park destruction.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

As you can probably guess from the name, everything about this snowboard is twin which lends itself perfectly to balanced park riding, not so great for powder- but if you did chance upon some deep snow Burton’s Channel System makes it a doddle to slide your bindings right back.

The Kilroy Twin runs a traditional camber profile, it’s long been considered the ultimate for a poppy and dynamic feel. The possible drawbacks come in the form of edge catches, but there’s no beating it for lively and energetic riding.

Construction and Materials

The Kilroy Twin prides itself on its mellow flex, playful biax laminates provide the ultimate in butterability and keep the board really nice and manoeuvrable underfoot. It’s maybe a little on the soft side if you’re a real charger but for playful jibbing it’s ideal.

For that kind of price you’re never gonna get Burton’s absolute top-shelf tech, but for a board that’s meant for jibbing, buttering and throwing round in the park you definitely don’t need it. That’s not to say it’s basic though, you still get a dual wood core with Dualzone EGD positioning, a slick sintered base and Burton’s Squeezebox profiling.

Not only is the Kilroy Twin blunted in the nose and tail, it also uses Burton’s Pro-Tip technology, which tapers the thickness which leads to an overall lowered swing weight for easier spins and reduced total weight.

Roundup

The Kilroy Twin definitely isn’t as versatile as some others in the Burton line, in fact it’s the features that make it such a great freestyle board that limit it in other terrain. More aggressive resort riders might want to look towards the Custom, or if powder’s more your thing, then something like the Deep Thinker will be more up your street but if you eat, sleep, and breathe freestyle then the Kilroy Twin hits it out of the park.
