Serving confident female snowboarders since 2000, the Burton Feelgood is one of the best-loved boards in the game. Those who favour the original’s classic bend can still get their hands on the camber version, but this here is the combo-profiled Burton Feelgood Flying V.

“While cambered boards grip the piste better, the protruding ‘Frostbite’ edges on the Feelgood Flying V help to compensate”

This one has a rocker section between the feet, which gives the Burton Feelgood Flying V an edge when cruising in powder, or when pressing or buttering. Both are improved by the ease with which you can lift the nose (or tail). It’s not perfect for all conditions, otherwise every board would have it, but Burton have gone to great lengths to minimise the trade-off in other areas.

While cambered boards grip the piste better, the protruding ‘Frostbite’ edges on the Feelgood Flying V help to compensate. Besides, there are still mini-camber sections under your feet, so it’s not a true rocker.

Its all-mountain credentials are further boosted by the directional twin shape, not to mention the carbon-enhanced ‘Squeezebox’ core that uses varying thicknesses of wood to deliver all the pop you need, with less of the weight.

If you like to charge the piste at Mach 10, mess around in the park from time to time, and head straight for the pow when it comes, the Burton Feelgood Flying V can handle the lot.

Tester’s Verdict

Charlotte Strachanhideout-hostel.com

“This is definitely a high end board, and worth the money. The Feelgood is a true all mountain girls board that ticks all the boxes and handles everything you put in front of it. Whether it’s dreamy powder turns, cruising pistes or playing around on in the park, this board does it all and leaves a smile on your face.

I would say that this board would suit a more experienced rider who wants to get away from softer-flexing boards. You don’t need to be a pro, though; the Flying V version is more forgiving than the full camber, making it a little more user friendly!”
