Bataleon She-W 2018-2019 Women’s Snowboard Review

UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019-2020 Bataleon She-W here

The Bataleon She-W women’s snowboard boasts all the fine construction of the Bataleon Push Up, and is the same price, but with a freestyle twist. If the park is your focus, this would definitely be the one to go for.

You’ll find one of the more freestyle-friendly versions of Triple Base Technology on the Bataleon She-W. The middle section of base is pretty wide, making for a stable platform as you charge towards a booter or touch down on a rail, but there’s still enough side-base left over to keep those edges clear of any nasty catches.

“The She-W is softer than you’d expect for a board ridden by serious park slayers”

The uplift of the 3BT is minimal, so you’ll notice it a lot less than you would on, say, the Bataleon Magic Carpet – instead it’s more of a silent partner, providing you with an increased margin of error that can at times prove crucial.

The end-to-end flex of the Bataleon She-W is softer than you’d expect for a board ridden by serious park slayers, but thanks to some carbon stringers at the inserts, which run across the board from edge to edge, it’s still nice and stable at high speed.

A new addition is a hollow carbon tube down the middle of the board, which delivers a little more spring at the take-off point. Otherwise the Bataleon She-W is much the same high-end, highly-respected freestyle weapon.

Tester’s Verdict

Joy Dutchsnowboard-asylum.com

“The She-W is an absolute powerhouse! From jibs, to kickers or even just messing around on piste, this board brings fun by the bag load.

“The She-W is an awesome board for riders who want to focus more on their freestyle”

The softer flex meant it was perfect for pressing and buttering around and doing some flatland stuff, but it’s by no means a limp noodle. The pop was immense and edge-to-edge transitions felt ultra responsive. The 3BT is so forgiving that it allows super quick progression, and it encourages you to keep pushing yourself without worrying.

On piste the board felt stable underfoot and still carved really nicely, despite it being geared a bit more towards park and freestyle riding.

The She-W is an awesome board for riders who want to focus more on their freestyle, without having something that lets you down across other parts of the mountain.”
