After a few years on the market, it’s safe to say that they weren’t wrong. TNF is offering a wide range of outerwear made using the technology, including the Brigandine jacket.

Who is The The North Face Brigandine Jacket For?

Tested by TNF’s own elite team for over 400 continuous days in the toughest conditions on earth, this outerwear is made for the snowboarders who demand the best. Light, breathable and made from recycled materials, the Brigandine jacket are for the serious backcountry adventurers who can’t have their gear giving up on them.

Materials and Construction

With no major updates for this season, the Brigandine Jacket is still one of the lightest snowboard outerwear we’ve ever come across. The breathable, lightweight, soft material is what makes FUTURELIGHT stand out from its competitors. The North Face is providing a material that allows keeping the jacket on despite temperature fluctuations while not being as noisy as the typical hard shell jackets.

Made with The North Face’s nano-spun membrane, FUTURELIGHT, it allows air to pass through for better venting and breathability without sacrificing waterproofness and durability. By using the nanospinning method, TNF has managed to create nano-sized fibres that allow improved air permeability while maintaining waterproofness.

The nanospinning structure has enabled to create a more lightweight and breathable membrane in a shape of an ultra-thin and nimble garment that doesn’t just sit comfortably next to the skin but also offers the required protection for the harsher elements.

Fit and Features

Both the jacket and the pants are designed in a standard fit with exaggerated ergonomic 3D engineering to make it sit just right on the body without being too tight or too baggy, yet with enough room to layer up if needed.

Featuring whatever you may need but nothing more for a backcountry adventure, the Brigandine jacket is packed with both interior and exterior pockets: a pass pocket on the sleeve, multiple chest pockets, a hand warmer pocket on the outside and a few zipped pockets on the inside. For added comfort, the jacket also comes with a microfibre chin guard to stop it from rubbing.
