Why change a winning concept? Patagonia’s Powslayer bib pants are back for 20/21, and whilst no major changes have been made for this season the product is still right up there if you’re looking to get a pair of durable snowboard pants.
The Powslayer pants are made for the riders looking to conquer the backcountry – they are lightweight, packable and feature a minimalist design. Their timeless styling ensures that you’ll be more than happy to pull the Powslayers on twenty years from now without looking like you’ve just put on a pair of your late grandad’s retro pants (may he rest in peace, the absolute ripper).
“Patagonia’s also chosen the timeless design to encourage people to be a bit more conscious when it comes to purchasing choices”
Of course, it isn’t only about the looks. Patagonia’s also chosen the timeless design to encourage people to be a bit more conscious when it comes to purchasing choices – the more often you feel the need to buy a new pair of snowboard pants the more strain it puts on the environment.
Patagonia tries to only use the best materials when it comes to the manufacturing of their goods, meaning their products are more likely to lead a long and healthy life. For the Powslayer, Patagonia’s used Gore-Tex Pro. It might not be the most breathable option but it will last you a long time and is, it’s worth adding, one of the most waterproof membranes out there.
Not only do these pants offer extremely good protection, especially when faced with windier conditions, but the face fabric is also made out of 100% recycled nylon – another great reason for spending a bit more money on a pair of snowboard pants.
Patagonia isn’t skimping on comfort either, the Powslayer pants have articulated patterning to increase your range of motion, making it easier for you to get about. The gaiters also seal out snow while the tough scuff guards protect the inside of the leg and bottom hem. All in all, a win-win solution for you and Mother Nature. Happy days.
