Patagonia’s Powslayer is made in both a men’s and women’s model and is another fine example of what the brands 20/21 Shell Yeah line has in store for us all. First, in the industry, all of Patagonia’s 62 shells are made using recycled material and sewn in Fair Trade Certified factories.
The Powslayer is made using 100% recycled nylon. By choosing to use recycled nylon rather than virgin nylon, Patagonia’s used fewer resources like water, energy and fossil fuel, in the manufacturing process. By doing this they’ve also diverted waste from landfills, making it an all-around more sustainable option.
“Whilst being an extremely sustainable option the Powslayer is also technically hardcore”
Whilst being an extremely sustainable option the Powslayer is also technically hardcore. A Gore-Tex Pro fabric makes sure this 3L jacket is extremely waterproof, breathable and durable. The ones who tend to face harsher conditions and are afraid that their jacket might not be up for it will find that the Powslayer can tackle more or less anything.
If you’re looking for a jacket that doesn’t put a strain on your back whilst packed into your bag (get a stronger spine dude), the Powslayer delivers on that front too. The men’s model comes at an impressively low weight of 547g.
We’re happy to see that for something so technical and sustainably produced, the Powslayer is stylish too. It’s not as slim fitted as a typical backcountry tech-jacket, nor is it as colourful in its design.
The Patagonia Powslayer Jacket has got a timeless look, so you won’t feel like you’ll need to trade it for something new when the 20/21 trends have run their course. It’s got Hulk-like abilities and can basically carry you through any storm. You’ll like this jacket when it’s angry.
The model in the photo is 5’10” (178cm) tall and wearing size M.
