Burton Covert 2017-2018 Snowboard Jacket Review

While you need to look to Burton’s [ak] range for the really techy stuff, there’s also a huge range of snowboard jackets and pants that’ll suit the rider who wants something good-looking and functional, but that doesn’t cost as more than their snowboard.

“Choose the shell for a lightweight, versatile option, or go for the insulted version if you tend to feel the chill”

The Burton Covert snowboard jacket is hugely popular due to its bang-for-buck qualities. The waterproofing and breathability ratings are perfectly good for inbound adventures, and the price is right too.

It’s available in two different styles; choose the shell for a lightweight, versatile option (although you’ll have to get your layering right in colder weather), or go for the insulted version if you tend to feel the chill.

The Thermolite insulation in the latter is made of 40% recycled materials, and is a little thicker round the torso where it’s most needed. Meanwhile the arms and hood can still withstand colder temperatures, but you get more freedom of movement too.

If you like to use a powder skirt, the Burton Covert has got you covered, but you can ditch it if you’d rather ride without. The media pocket is easy to access while you’re on the hill, and it’s big enough for your goggles too.

Fourteen different colourways (all of which are Bluesign approved) mean that the Burton Covert can suit any rider – and the matching pants are pretty great too.
