Why we chose Bonfire 2L Stretch Cordura Bib Snowboard Pants: Already proven themselves as a reliable and durable bib, they’re back by popular demand.

Designed to withstand the unexpected climates of the Pacific Northwest, Bonfire knows how to deliver long-lasting quality snowboard outerwear and their Bonfire 2L Stretch Cordura Bib pants are no exception.

Back by popular demand for season 20/21, the 2L Bonfire Bib is part of Bonfire’s Platinum Collection that is built to take on the harshest and most varied of conditions. The Cordura bibs might not be the new exciting thing on the market, but these pants thrive in so many fields that we felt they definitely earned their spot in this year’s Whitelines 100.

“Back by popular demand for season 20/21, the 2L Bonfire Bib is part of Bonfire’s Platinum Collection that is built to take on the harshest and most varied of conditions”

For the fabric, Bonfire’s used their signature 2-way stretch Tufftech Fabric. This allows for maximum mobility without sacrificing the durability or looks of the pants. Finding a durable, good-looking, snowboard bib isn’t always easy but it pleases us to say that Bonfire’s cracked the code here.

Not lacking in the ability to fight off water either, the 30K waterproof rating of the pants ensures you’re in for a very, very, dry ride. In a nutshell, anything over 5K is good enough to be considered waterproof – with the average snowboard pant placing at around 10-15K. With that in mind, 30K is definitely high enough (and then some) to take on deep snow adventures in.

The 30K waterproofing combined with an 18K breathability rating means the Bonfire Cordura Bib is an excellent option for backcountry venturers.

When looking to buy a backcountry-suited bib, it is equally important the pants can keep water out as it is for them to breathe. If you’re stuck in a bib that doesn’t let the water vapour evaporate into the environment, you’ll be left wet and cold (which isn’t exactly ideal, let’s be honest).

“Adding to the pant’s sustainability score, Bonfire has used a recycled lining”

Adding to the bib’s breathability, the venting system on the Cordura Bibs has been updated with 2 mesh-lined inseam vents and a full side 2-way zip for this winter. This will further prevent you from overheating and allow for increased airflow.

For improved durability, Bonfire’s also added the Cordura reinforced Kick Panels at the very end of the pants. This allows you to hike and climb without having to worry about the pants breaking when they inevitably get caught on sharper edges.

As for additional features, the internal waist adjustment allows you to adjust the pants to your liking while the jacket to pant connect prevents snow from getting in. And on top of that, there’s a big chest pocket for you to store your valuables in too.

Adding to the pant’s sustainability score, Bonfire has used a recycled lining. The fabric might not be fully recycled, but it certainly is a step in the right direction – a step we for one are stoked that Bonfire has taken.

The model in the photo 6’2” (188cm) tall and wearing size L.
