Let’s face it – adidas’ none-more-casual approach to snowboard outerwear has split opinion like Brexit-flavoured Marmite. However, it’s fair to say that this particular brand of 90s-shopping-centre-chic has caught on like wildfire among certain sub-sections of the snowboard community.
Chief among the must-haves for anyone feeling this style are a pair of loose-fitting, tracksuit-style pants, and this year adidas has two from which you can choose. As well as the shellsuit-esque Slopetrotter, there’s these – the adidas Lazy Man snowboard pants.
In the comfort stakes, the adidas Lazy Man pants have everything else beat – so much so that once you come off the mountain, you’ll not want to take them off. The material is super light and stretchy, making these perfect for warmer days on the hill.

Realistically though, that’s all these are good for; there’s not much in the way of waterproofing and breathability. A basic 5,000ml/5,000g rating combo means that they won’t be much cop in a midwinter blizzard. It’s a moot point though; these aren’t made for that, and what weatherproofing they do have puts them well ahead of some actual tracksuit bottoms without compromising on style.
Likewise, the pockets are a step up from what you’d find in a gym bag – zippers on all three pockets (two at the front, one on the back) let you carry the essentials with no stress. There’s even a loop inside one of them for attaching your keys to. The elastic cuffs will keep the snow out of your boots, and a built-in belt has the potential to spare your blushes.
