The goggle giants Oakley are slowly taking over the snowboard outerwear industry too. By partnering up with our favourite Norwegian snowboarder, Stale Sandbech, Oakley’s introducing the world to a whole range of new clothes – including the Oakley x Stale TC Cruiser Vest.
Stale Sandbech’s signature line can be told apart by the iconic Skull logo and camo-like print. A semi-big skull is printed on the right-hand chest of the vest and a yellow Oakley logo embellishes the left side, while a green camo print covers the bottom half of the vest.

Hailing from the North, if anyone can appreciate the warmth of a snowboard mid-layer it’s Stale. His signature vest comes with down insulation of 220g, so you can easily wear this on its own or as a layer since the insulation is slightly thicker than you’d expect from an average snowboard mid-layer.
If you’re planning on using the Cruiser Vest on its own, you’d be pleased to know that the vest repels water to some extent too, which comes in handy since you wouldn’t want the down insulation to get wet. As warm, light and all-around excellent down is, it dries extremely slowly, and its insulation abilities fail to work when wet. This is why Oakley’s added the DWR coating to the vest, to keep both you and the down dry.
Designed with a performance fit, the vest is built to move with you. There’s also a chest pocket on the left-hand side where you can store your valuables, while the reflective logo keeps you visible when the light starts to fade.
The Oakley x Stale Cruiser Vest isn’t the most technical mid-layer out there, but it will definitely keep you warm and cosy whether you choose to wear it on its own or as an extra layer of warmth underneath your jacket.
The model in the photo is 5’10” (178cm) tall and wearing size M.
