As goggle (and helmet) specialists, Giro make frames to suit all styles – from frameless spherical fare like the Giro Contact to framed cylindrical designs like this, the Giro Blok. A favourite of the pro team, it boasts a classic look that offers a lot of bang for your buck.
“The lens and frame have both been tweaked to offer the maximum possible field of view, without making the Blok any less compatible with a helmet.”
The Giro Blok snowboard goggle is a mid-priced model that offers great peripheral vision thanks to what they call ‘Expansion View Technology’. Simply put, the lens and frame have both been tweaked to offer the maximum possible field of view, without making the Blok any less compatible with a helmet.
The multi-discipline optics experts at Zeiss have been drafted in to help create Giro’s Vivid lenses, which are a step up from previous offerings. Contrast is improved by letting in a manageable amount of blue light, something many other lenses try to eliminate entirely.
Under the lens of the Giro Blok you’ll find space for a pair of prescription glasses, as well as a very happy face thanks to the microfleece-lined foam. If you wear a lid you should get on fine with these too – and if it’s a Giro-branded helmet, the two will go together like chips and ketchup.
