The impossibly light EVA frame of the Electric Electrolite snowboard goggle certainly impressed us in its debut year, and it continues to punch far, far above its almost non-existent weight.
Rather than a heavy canvas strap, the Electric Electrolite features one that’s made entirely from silicone. It’s fully adjustable, and there’s even small holes running all the way around to improve fit and reduce weight further still.
“For those who see goggles as a necessary evil, getting the lightest pair around is the next best thing to not wearing a pair at all”
There’s no issues with grip either; silicone is what most goggle manufacturers put on the inside of standard straps to cling on to helmets and beanies, so a strap that’s fully made of the stuff is even more effective in that regard.
It’s still got as high quality a lens as the rest of Electric’s formidable line, and plenty of venting across the top for a fog-free shred. With its fixed lens you don’t have the option to change up your tint as conditions dictate, but it’s a reasonable trade-off for something this light and flexible. It also sits pretty close to your face, making it even more anonymous when you’re wearing it.
For those who see goggles as a necessary evil, getting the lightest pair around is the next best thing to not wearing a pair at all (and far better for your peepers). With those parameters, the Electric Electrolite is unbeatable.
