UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2018/2019 Dragon D1 here
As one of the best known specialist goggle brands in the game, Dragon have crafted some seriously high-tech models that wouldn’t look all that out of place in the cockpit of a Eurofighter. That being said, not everyone is in a position to shell out for the best, and thanks to affordable models like the Dragon D1 snowboard goggle, we don’t have to either.
“The D1 packs plenty of interesting features into a stone-cold classic design”
The Dragon D1 comes in at half the price of the Dragon NFX2, yet packs plenty of interesting features into a stone-cold classic design. Even Dragon’s ‘standard’ lens tech is pretty swish, and it’s all here; a durable, hard-coated lens that offers full UV protection and excellent fog resistance, that repels dirt and water alike.
Ventilation is in no short supply, with the entire top edge of the frame designed to allow air to flow through the goggle at all times. The dual-layer face foam may not be as techy as the triple version found on other models, but it’s only the most discerning of faces that will be able to tell the difference in normal circumstances. Besides, the foam of the Dragon D1 has the same hypoallergenic micro-fleece lining as its pricier brethren.
