This perennially popular boot from Thirty Two is looking better than ever, thanks to the latest Scott Stevens colourway. The Peter Pan of snowboarding has relied on the ThirtyTwo TM-Two for years, during which time he’s redefined what’s possible on a snowboard. So varied is his trick bag that he needs a reliable all-rounder, and this fits the bill perfectly.

While Thirty Two apply Boa and speed-lace to plenty of their range, no brand is more closely associated with the classic fat lace. For comfort, reliability and style, sometimes nothing else will do. Any lace is only as good as the boot it’s on, though, and that’s why several steps have been taken to ensure that this classic lace is secure and reliable as any other system.

“Several steps have been taken to ensure that this classic lace is secure and reliable as any other system”

Chief among these is the fact that the tongue is locked down by the eyestays as you tighten the lace, keeping everything firmly in place and ensuring that heel lift is non-existent. Further support comes from the harness that surrounds the liner. The one in the Thirty Two TM-Two is slightly taller than the standard version.

The outer shell itself is impressively light, and is finished with a weatherproof coating that will extend the life of your boots and keep your feet warm and dry. The front on it is designed to let you flex down through the ankle without warping the shape, while the backstay will remain just as strong and sturdy after your 1000th heavy landing.

Speaking of which, a combination of gel and foam in the sole ensures cushioning is targeted effectively for all kinds of impacts, from high-speed chatter to accidentally top-decking a quarterpipe. Meanwhile the liner features dual-density foam that conforms perfectly to your foot, a feature that should be right at the top of the priority list for anyone wanting to minimise foot pain.

Despite being a little on the stiff side, the Thirty Two TM-Two has proven itself as a solid choice for the intermediate as well as experts like Scotty.

Trade Secrets

James Kim – Boot Designer, ThirtyTwo

The TM-Two remains one of the most popular boots in our lineup, so it’s not something we wanted to tweak too much. The design direction for 2017-2018 was to simplify the upper, making it slimmer in profile while still being impactful aesthetically.

The main features remain the same: the overmould provides durability while adding support to the shell, Tongue Tension System for ultimate heel lock down and G2 Gel with Evolution Foam outsole for two stage cushioning. In addition to these premium features we added Storm Shield which is an all-weather laminate to the shell preventing any water or moisture from entering the boot.

In the end it’s everything riders have come to expect from the TM-Two, a supportive, mid-flexing boot with great fit.
