One of the quickest ways to be put off snowboarding altogether is to spend a day with freezing cold toes. Not only are they uncomfortable, they make it harder to ride, too. There are measures you can take to prevent it happening, of course; just off the top of our heads we’d recommend investing in good snowboard socks, storing your boots somewhere warm before putting them on, and (above all else) take the time to get the fit just right.
For some riders, however all that still won’t be enough. That’s where the Salomon Kiana Toast Focus Boa snowboard boots come in. They’re one of a relatively new breed of battery-powered boots that can direct heat to the most vulnerable parts of your foot, effectively ruling out any problems.
“If you really, really hate getting cold feet, these are potential game-changers”

To activate the system, simply push the rubber button located at the top of the liner, above the Boa coiler on the side of the outer shell. There are three different settings, so you can opt for a quick blast of strong heat to chase the frostbite away, or a steady stream of mellow warmth to keep it at bay right from the off. The battery can last for up to 18 hours, so even if you forget to charge them up after a full day’s use, they’ll still be good to go the next morning.
