We were delighted to see that Deeluxe has collaborated with the Japanese WOW crew on the ID 7.1 this winter, and had put out a cracking ad for it too. With a backbone of tech trickery in a fun, mid-flexing package, the Deeluxe ID 7.1 snowboard boot is the perfect fit for Doggy & co.
While this may be a ‘Special Edition’, it’s essentially the regular ID 7.1 with a unique colourway. That’s probably for the best; who knows what you’d end up with on your feet if Doggy had the final say. These have a great look, though, and the inverted colours on the left and right boots will surely turn a few heads.
“Choose a stiffer insert for a more responsive ride, or a softer one for more mellow laps”

If you like the park, you’ll love the Deeluxe ID 7.1 boots, thanks to an embarrassment of features tailored for tricks (both big and small). We’ll start at the bottom, with a sole that offers increased board feel. It also has a big protective lug built into the heel, courtesy of the protection specialists at Slytech, so you’re still well protected from big impacts.
If you’re putting these through the ringer, reassurance comes from the extra-strong backstay, and freestyle-specific flex zone over the ankle. From hit 1 to 100, these should last the pace, and durable boots are the key for happy feet.
Overall the Deeluxe ID 7.1 has a middle-of-the-road flex, but you can customise it thanks to the ‘TPS Shield’ (seriously, did none of the designers ever watch Office Space?). Choose a stiffer insert for a more responsive ride, or a softer one for more mellow laps. You can leave it out altogether, too.
