UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019/2020 Salomon Women’s Hologram here
The Salomon Hologram women’s snowboard bindings have the exact same specs as the award-winning men’s version, so kudos to Salomon for not, as some have been guilty of in the past, cutting any corners when porting over to the female market.
The ShadowFit system uses a malleable heelcup to offer a unique take on the board-to-boot interface. Your movements are less hampered than they’d be in a traditional pair of binders, as the heelcup can move independently of the rest of the chassis.

The hinge, combines with the soft material, makes shifting your weight along the length of your snowboard easier than ever, which comes in hugely handy in some situations – riding in powder, for one.
The Salomon Hologram remains pretty rigid across the plane between the edges, so you still get tons of response when you need it. The straps both have a minimalist design that puts reactiveness first without skimping too much on comfort.
The highback has a nice medium flex, making it ideal for all-round riding. Indeed, that’s what the Hologram bindings as a whole are built for – hit the park one minute – taking advantage of the canted footbeds and high-end VIBE padding – then disappear off into the backcountry the next. These really can do it all.
ShadowFit may not be to everyone’s taste, but there’s a reason the system has now been around for several seasons. Check it out this winter, if you haven’t already.
