Burton Mission 2021-2022 Snowboard Bindings Review

  • Price: €200
  • Sizes: S, M, L
  • Flex: 5/10
  • Entry System: Classic

The only thing entry level about the Mission is the price, it’s not Burton’s top performance binding, but for a daily driver that’ll saddle up for any day of the season then it’s a really viable option. Realistically, if you’re a complete speed demon who wears a lycra suit and has a hard on for carbon then this probably isn’t for you, but for everyday riders looking for something that’ll rip park, piste or even some pow then Mission accepted.

Who Is The Burton Mission For?

Riders looking for one binding to do it all, at a price that’ll leave some cash for beers at the end of the day. From novices all the way to advanced shredders, the Mission is a dependable and durable binding that’s great value for money.

Baseplate

For a binding that doesn’t break the £200 mark, it still uses the same glass/nylon composite baseplate you find in most of the more expensive products in the line, this is thanks to Burton’s trickle-down method, which over time permeates their most exclusive tech into the whole range. Considering the price, you’re getting a pro level baseplate that allows for a little bit of playful flex underfoot, without impeding board feel.

Burton’s FullBED cushioning sits underfoot and provides a stable base with a little additional dampening for taking some of the chatter out of chop and slop. With its ReFlex baseplate, the Mission will fit on both Channel and 4×4 boards, so whatever you’re rocking, you’ll get the optimum fit.

Straps and Highbacks

Burton’s Reactstrap is a low-profile strap that minimises pressure points with its 3D construction, snug and secure but not obtrusive it’s great for longer days on the hill without foot fatigue. The Toe straps are similarly manufactured to reduce weight without sacrificing performance.

An asymmetric one-piece highback houses Burton’s DialFLAD forward lean adjuster, whether you rock the old school look or not, it’s easy as pie to manipulate the angles. The Mission is also available with a Wingback Highback for some more lateral support, ideal for tweaking, pressing and buttering if you wanna get super jibby with it.
