Stance Curren 2023-2024 Snowboard Socks Review

Tested and selected for our top 100 snowboard products of the year: the Stance Curren Socks

  • Price: £23

Why We Chose The Stance Curren Socks: This snowsports-specific sock sits in the sweetspot of comfort, warmth and price. A treat for your toes.

Some folk will likely see the inclusion of a sock – a sock – in the Whitelines 100 as using up a spot that could have been offered to a drool-worthy new pow board or upgraded action camera. To them we offer a slap in the chops with a leather glove, and a challenge to a duel.

“A treat for your toes”

We will not have the honour of the sock, the forgotten hero of the snowboard gear world, questioned. Socks put in the longest, most gruelling shift on the mountain, and are therefore worthy of your respect.

Skimping on socks can leave you with chafed, wrinkly feet, as well as a huge drop in popularity among your chalet/apartment co-habitors at boots-off time – so when it comes to toe-clothes, make sure they are fit for purpose. What you need is something comfortable, breathable and durable, and ideally designed specifically for use on the mountain. Step forward the Stance Curren snowboard socks.

Who Are The Stance Curren Socks For?

The UK sizing of the Stance Curren ranges from a women’s 3 to a men’s 11.5, so just about everyone can find one that works for them. Plus it’ll keep your feet cosy in all but the most extreme conditions.

Materials, Construction and Features

Like all of the best socks, the Stance Curren includes merino wool in the blend. This naturally antimicrobial material accounts for a fifth of the Curren, and makes life extremely difficult for the microscopic critters that cause boot stink. In a belt-and-braces approach, Stance also applies an additional bacteria-banishing, moisture-wicking finish to each pair.

While the padding in the Stance Curren is generally low-profile, targeted zones feature cushioning that’s designed to minimise the discomfort that can arise by spending all day in a pair of boots. There’s extra protection against rubbing built into the ankle zone, and it’s nice and long to ensure full coverage of the boot area.

Finally, the Curren is highly durable, backed by Stance’s ‘InfiKnit’ guarantee. It’s not just a clever name; if for any reason you wind up with a rip or a hole, you can get a free replacement.
