Once again YES’ three amigos – Romain De Marchi, DCP and JP Solberg – have selected bona fide snowboard legends to grace the topsheets of the different lengths in the Greats series. Peter-John de Villiers has crafted four striking black-and-white graphics for this year’s YES The Greats; one each for Jon Cardiel, Noah Salasnek, Todd Richards and Shaun Palmer.

Looking beyond aesthetics, it’s a twin-shaped asymmetrical freestyle board that’s the stick of choice for JP himself. The asym element has been slightly tweaked this year, as has the shape of the nose and tail, but it’s still very much aimed at the dedicated freestyle rider.

The ‘Camrock’ profile involves a subtle camber section in the middle of the board, but with rocker at each end, so it’ll hold an edge at speed whilst delivering better pressability and powder performance than classic camber.

It’s stiff enough to take to bigger features without a worry, and there’s some bamboo stringers that run from end to end to provide extra strength and pop.

That’s not to say it can’t deliver when you’re cruising piste, buttering or hitting rails, but the YES Greats is definitely in its element when pushed by a confident rider.
