2009/10 was a rollercoaster year for Danny Davis. Having gained his first pro model with Burton Snowboards (the Easy Livin’) he grew a beard, learned double corks without the aid of a private halfpipe, saw his good buddy Kevin Pearce land in a life-threatening coma and proceeded to channel all that emotion into a career-best run at the US Grand Prix halfpipe in Mammoth, thus qualifying for the Vancouver Olympics and beating Shaun White in process. He also scored a full length interview in Whitelines – yeah! Then disaster struck. During some drunken celebrations at the DC Mtn Lab in Utah, he and a friend made off with a quad bike in the dead of night, struck a gate and were flung from the vehicle. Danny broke his back and pelvis, ending his season and putting him out of the Games.
After numerous operations, Danny Davis appears to be close to a comeback. We hope so, because as this video shows he is one of the most stylish and balls out riders in the game. He’s also a damned cool dude.
