“What I See” DBK Presents Four Video Shorts – Part 1

[series align=”left”]

DBK shreds. There’s no arguments there. Whether it’s big line slaying, pillow line bombing or even a simple slash – the dude rips.

What some people might not know is that he is as handy behind a camera as he is in front of it – only last year he released a pretty sweet montage entitled ‘100DAYS x 100SECONDS’, one second clips from a hundred days of travel smushed together into a glorious montage. Check it out here.

Now his sponsor Nixon have funded him to produce a series of shorts depicting life behind the scenes as a professional snowboarder. Where other guys like Torstein and the Helgasons go for laughs, DBK aims himself squarely at the art crowd. Like the Dylan Reider of snowboarding. Except the total opposite of a douche.

Check it out, it’s pretty cool stuff, exploring the peripheral side of travelling to shred. Whilst it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, this author for one enjoyed the cinematography.

Made up of four individual mini-episodes, the ‘What I See’ series takes the viewer on a visually and sonically artistic journey that truly delight the senses. Filmed on location in Moscow, Bardenas Reales (in Navarre, Spain), Seattle and Alaska, each episode has been skillfully edited by David himself, who undoubtedly demonstrates an uncanny knack for selecting mesmerizing soundtracks.

David adds: “I’d just like to thank those who have inspired and encouraged me to try new things, and also everyone who has given me the confidence to believe in myself. I’d like to thank my sponsors, and in this case particularly Nixon, who had faith in my ability not only as a snowboarder but also as a filmmaker. It means a lot. Thanks.”
