Have you ever seen so much hype generated by one guy and a double back flip? Bode Merrill is rare breed of snowboarder who has the ability to get everyone stoked and then blow their minds. He is unstoppable right now, cementing his reputation as one of the most talented and progressive snowboarders on the planet.
This short film features Bode’s most memorable clips over the course of his snowboarding career – which is a hell of a lot – with accompanying voice overs from Chris Grenier, Desiree Melancon, Java Fernandez, Scott Stevens, Kevin Stevenson, Pat Fenelon, Harrison Gordon, Bode Merrill, Doran Laybourne and Shane Charlebois, all singing his praises.
From the double backy at High Cascade which really put his name on the map, back to the start and his ‘It ain’t easy’ days, right up to filming with Absinthe and everything in between – all of Bode’s clips stand the test of time and still look sick to this day.
“His fear mechanism is broken.”
Bode Merrill is an unstoppable force in modern snowboarding. Over his career, he has proven that fear is a secondary consideration to progression, that having a vision of the seemingly impossible can become reality. “Broken Mechanism” is a look back at what Bode has accomplished on a snowboard and leaves us only with our imaginations for what he has in store for the future.
