Has it really only been seven years since Forum Or Against ‘Em came out? Seven years since the brand that could never fail put out one of their all time best movies, seven years since Jake Blauvelt became… Jake Blauvelt.
Because lest we forget, before 2008 young Jake was far from the wise backcountry guru we occasionally catch a glimpse of these days. Back then he was a contest rider and park rat to boot, but this part was when he transitioned to full powder hound.
Not that that meant he became fascinated with boards that split in half or started saying things like “it’s all in the turn man” – by the time the credits rolled halfway through his second song, the world knew there was something new and exciting happening in snowboarding: park style tricks absolutely sent off of natural hits.
Seven years later he’s still throwing gigantic sevens off windlips, and seven years later it still blows our mind. A classic part from one of snowboarding’s modern greats.
