Eiki Helgason is one of the most creative people we’ve ever had the pleasure of watching snowboard. Over the years we’ve seen a buttload of NBD’s, a tonne of awesome skate clips, and a bankfull of snowskate madness. Eiki’s decided to combine his three board sport disciplines and now presents SSS, his year-long passion project. He was determined to get three sick parts, and if we may say so, he most certainly delivered.
“Sit your ass down, get comfy and prepare for an eight and a half minute modern day masterpiece”
Three separate parts released on consecutive days, followed by Eiki dropping the full movie has resulted in frantic refreshing of Youtube each morning to get our Eiki fix. Sit your ass down, get comfy and prepare for an eight and a half minute modern day masterpiece.
First up is the snowboard section, and we see Eiki rocking his signature Lobster board, showcasing its jib capabilities and playful nature. We even get some cameos from Eiki’s Lobster crew during their CREAM Week insanity. You’ll see some high tier riding from Fridge, Big Frank Bourg, Birkir Georgsson and Sparrow Knox.
“Eiki is leading the charge and delivering white hot content to our screens”
Skating and snowboarding go hand in hand, and it’s not unusual for pro snowboarders to be rad skaters as well (see Phil Hansen, Scott Stevens et al). Oddly enough, not too many have transitioned over to Snowskate, but Eiki is leading the charge and delivering white hot content to our screens. Freyr Helgason and Davíð Hólm Júlíusson join him in his Snowskate section and are delivering the goods. Skating rounds out the movie with handrails, flatland and stair sets and another appearance from Freyr.
Eiki’s well known for being able to make something out of nothing, he doesn’t need a huge terrain part to throw hammers, he’ll make anywhere his stomping ground. Eiki, you’re a creative whirlwind, this was sick. Nice job man.
