From Half-Pipe to backcountry trips, and to world Champion in 2014, Emilien Badoux has been evolving the snowboard scene for over two decades now. For more than twenty years, this Swiss snowboarder has been progressing the sport itself whilst he’s kept on riding for both Rip Curl and Nidecker from the very start.
“This is how I discovered freeride, the beauty of drawing your line on the mountain in fresh powder, and not only making trick in the air”
“When I was 16 years old, I hesitated between going to a circus school or trying to achieve a snowboard career. Well, as you needed to be over 18 for the circus school, then I decided to have a snowboard carreer.” – Emilien Badoux.
Mr Badoux reminisces about the good old days hitting the snowpark in Thyon together with shaper Zilio and his role models Darius, Jonas and Romain, “It didn’t feel like work to me, but more like holidays with my friends” Emilien says. Looking back at it all, he laughs, and the following comment does not strike us as surprising at all, “I’m sure I was a little bit stoned.”
