The kicker is fully constructed and ready to go. The music stages have been assembled. A mountain of food, booze and product is arriving by the truckload. The athletes are flying over to London as we type these words.
We’re now well into October which means that winter, and of course the Relentless Freeze Festival, is finally almost upon us. Freeze is set to drop like a bombshell onto Battersea power station tomorrow (yep, tomorrow!) and we couldn’t be more excited. With a stacked list of international riders including the Helgasons, Staale Sandbech and our very own Jamie Nicholls (full rider list below) showing up to stomp the shit out of the behemoth of a kicker, and a music line-up that would give many of the bigger music-only festivals a run for their money, Friday and Saturday promise to be THE biggest snowsports parties to hit UK soil this year.
Check out the full schedule of competition events below:
Don’t forget that on the music front, DJ Shadow will headline the main stage on Friday with support from A-Yo! (Mark ronson vs Zane Lowe), while hip hop trailblazers Public Enemy and Grandmaster Flash will close out the musical festivities good and proper on Saturday.
Headlining the new dance music focused Energy Sessions Bar on Friday are progressive DJ collective Scratch Perverts, with support from Jay Da Funk and British duo Plastic Thumbs and closing out the bill on saturday is the talented Jacob Plant with support from Majestic and Annaca and the Urban Knights.
The Desparados Factory Stage will see the one and only Ms Dynamite headline on Friday with support from hip hop-meets-electronica duo The Nextmen. On Saturday, drum and bass heavyweights Shy FX will close out the stage with support from Raf Daddy. You’ll also be able to peep some skate action, drummers and body graffiti artists at the Desparados Factory.
For the full, up to date music line up head to the Freeze Festival website.
