Austria gets a big dump

There’s been some serious snowfall in Austria in the last couple of days, and a number of ski areas are now boasting about powdery conditions.

People from Kitzsteinhorn hit us up to let us know that the resort is covered in a dusting of fresh white stuff, which will enable snowboarders to ride down as far as the Alpincentre at 2,430 metres when the resort opens this weekend.

At the same time, we’ve had reliable sources telling us that the mountains near Innsbruck, the Austrian Alpine city, all have white caps on, with more snow predicted to fall over the weekend. Kaunertal, site of the UK board test and the Whitelines rail jam back in May, has also received a healthy dose of freshies in recent days. Craig , Whitelines’ ads salesman and resident rudebwoy, is heading out to the area this weekend for the glacier opening, the lucky git.

All this bodes rather well for what will hopefully be an awesome winter all-round! Let’s hope it keeps dumping like this…
