From shredding to surfing..

Crepel modelling the new 10/11 Quiksilver line

…to horse riding?

So, after an insane year of non-stop competing, world champ Mathieu Crepel takes a breath and reports back from his two weeks of kicking back in the awesome Argentina..well, before heading off again to Chamonix. Does this dude ever stop?

“Big news for this summer no NZ trip for me. South America instead. Nice, I needed to practice a bit of Spanish. It started with the annual Quiksilver photoshoot, we all gathered in Argentina in Serge Vitelli and Serge Cornillat’s refuge. ‘The Serges’ are two amazing and very complementary people. The snow conditions weren’t great because it hadn’t snowed for 3 weeks and nothing more came!”

“But for that trip it wasn’t the most important thing as the experience was incredible. Being lost in the middle of nowhere, without phone service or internet, made us remember about the basis of life and snowboarding, it felt great after 2 complete years of trainings and contests. The experience was even
more incredible for me as Serge Vitelli was one of my mentors and friends since I started snowboarding.”

“I crossed the Andes to meet my friends Sylvain Bourbousson, Johan Baisamy and Eric Bergeri who were waiting for me in Chile. We spilt the trip between Nevados de chillian and Pucon, the two spots were a bit flat but very scenic and stunning landscapes, and the trip wasn’t complete without a day surfing in Pichelimu!”

“Those 15 days felt like a holiday but we put down some good work as well. I am just back home for fews days but I’ll be back on the road as September is pretty busy. First with the alpine edition of “du flacon à la vague” and then the freestyle.ch in Zurich.”

For those of you who don’t speak French ‘du flacon à la vague’ means from snowflake to wave..
