You just know that winter is well on the way when news of the Relentless Freeze Festival starts trickling in… Returning to the beautiful, impressive and almost apocalyptic looking Battersea power station for the fifth year, London Freeze brings together over 35,000 winter sports fans for one of the definitive events in the British snowsports calendar. Like last year, expect a behemoth of a real snow kicker, some of the world’s best big air riders and a whole bunch of international DJ’s and bands who will attempt to raise the roof of that most iconic London landmark before bringing it all crashing to the ground – singing, dancing (and in this case, rapping) of course.

The musical side of things kick off on Friday 26th October with DJ Shadow taking the headline slot. Gangsta-rap loving park rats will no doubt be stoked to hear that Saturday’s headliners are none other than legendary hip-hop heavyweights Public Enemy, who will close out the festival in true G style with their recognisable brand of soulful beats and politically infused rhymes. Other acts set to grace the main stage include a new project from two respected industry names: Mark Ronson and Zane Lowe in A-YO! with a critically acclaimed electronic set and hip hop legend Grandmaster Flash. No real rock music as of yet but we reckon that this has to be one of the most solid line-ups that Freeze has seen in years. Loads more acts including the Stanton Warriors and DJ E-Z have also been announced and you can check the full line-up, as it stands, and with many more acts TBA, on the Freeze website.
