Burton’s Scrap Metal jam session hits Hemel Hempsteads’ Snow centre tonight, on the auspicious Friday 13th.

With brand new features built specifically for the event, things are likely to get ill on the hill, as previous scrap metal jams have seen riders jibbing gas pipes, skips and jacked-up Rover Metros. This Friday will be lucky for some, as there’s some stonking prizes up for grabs – ranging from a holiday with Rude Chalets (for the best unsponsored) to cold hard moulah for the winners. The organisers also have goodies from Analog, Gravis and monster Energy to give away and also the best trophies to date for the winners.
The competition will start at 7pm with a practice, then go straight into a 2 hour qualifying jam session. Usual slope prices apply and there is no extra cost to get involved in the competition. If this isn’t enough, Burton, Analog and Red Bull Euro team member Wojtek Pawlusiak will be making an appearance and using his superior jib knowledge to help judge.
After all the excitement it’s beer time for the prize giving and general banter, and the snow centre have organised a deal with the local Premier Inn if you wish to carry on your own private party, or if you’ve got a bit of a mission home.
