It’s March now, and although it’s not quite springtime yet it’s just around the corner. In some ways it makes us sad – the number of powder days are about to drop significantly – but in others we’re getting a whole new type of stoke on.

Spring shredding, simply put, is rad. It’s normally sunny, the parks are no longer comprised of death-inducing sheet ice and slush is perfect for molding into beer coolers. Life gets pretty sweet indeed when the February half term crowds start to disappear.

Which brings us neatly round to spring gear; not much changes in the way of hardware, though you can probably put your set back pow board under a coat of summer wax, but the warmer weather suddenly means you don’t have to go out wrapped in twelve thermal layers. Practicality gives way to bizarre fashions as hoodies, shirts and tees all suddenly become wearable options, as well as the bits of gear outlined in the next few pages…
